The Position
We are seeking a passionate and creative Teacher to join our team in Casuarina.
In this role, you will deliver the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP) focusing on beginner-level English language education to adult learners, including migrants and refugees. Many of your students may have little to no English literacy, you'll help them develop essential life skills-from basic conversation and handwriting to navigating everyday tasks like shopping or using public transport.
This is a unique opportunity to use your teaching skills to foster independence, confidence, and community connection. No two days will be the same, and we encourage you to think outside the box and make learning fun
This is part-time role (27.5 hours/week across Monday to Thursday) through to the end of December 2025.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering accredited training and assessment aligned with the Australian Qualifications Framework
- Designing and implementing engaging, flexible learning experiences tailored to student needs
- Supporting students through rolling intake and ongoing assessments
- Building strong relationships with students, stakeholders, and community partners
- Participating in cultural and community engagement activities
- Maintaining accurate records, attendance, and reporting in line with compliance standards
The Successful Applicant
- A minimum of a recognised undergraduate degree of at least three years duration PLUS either
- A Post graduate TESOL qualification in Adult Education (preferred), or
- A Bachelor of Education with TESOL major (including practicum).
- Experience teaching English to speakers of other languages
- Demonstrated success in achieving student learning outcomes and maintaining high participation rates
- A flexible, engaging teaching style suited to culturally diverse and disadvantaged learners
- Strong communication, planning, and record-keeping skills
Applicants must have a current Driver Licence, Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (OCHRE) and the ability to obtain a National Police Clearance.
