About QFKC:

Queensland Foster and Kinship Care (QFKC) is dedicated to supporting foster and kinship carers across Queensland. Our Returning Carer Program facilitates the re-engagement of former carers, ensuring they are well-prepared to resume their vital roles in providing safe and nurturing environments for children in need.

Position Overview:

We are seeking experienced Case Officer to work as part of the professional team at Queensland Foster and Kinship Care. We require you to have relevant knowledge of family based care, child protection, case management and experience utilising a strengths based framework. In addition to excellent problem solving and communication skills.

Tertiary qualifications in the Human Services field and/or equivalent experience is essential. A vehicle is provided so it is essential that you possess an unrestricted Qld driver's license. Additionally, you will be required to be in possession of a positive notice Blue Card.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional casework response to carers through phone, online, in person and through social media platforms as required and or as requested by the Team Leader
  • Preparation of written material for carers involved in disputes, QCAT reviews or court related matters within the boundaries of legislation and service agreement.
  • Assist with the drafting of written responses to departmental papers or submissions
  • Participate in activities undertaken by QFKC (e.g. conference, dinners, EKKA etc).
  • Where negotiated, provide relevant approved training to individuals or groups i.e. Carers, Government and non-Government staff.
  • Collect data and provide periodic reports to the Chief Executive Officer and Management Committee as requested.
  • Assist in the review and development of QFKC policy in regard to services to carers and the organisation.
