THE ROLE

As the Design Engineering Lead, you will take charge of all engineering deliverables, ensuring seamless production and product innovation. You'll spearhead new designs, oversee technical compliance, and manage a team of engineers, estimators, and production coordinators. Your expertise in CAD, SolidWorks, and mechanical engineering principles will be crucial in optimizing designs and enhancing manufacturing efficiency.

This role is a practical hands-on senior role and requires a lead by example attitude who can drive innovation and design, enhance efficiency, and ensure successful product development over the engineering/estimating team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading product design and development, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
  • Managing engineering projects, mentoring junior engineers, and overseeing QA/QC.
  • Utilizing SolidWorks and 3D scanning to create detailed models and drawings.
  • Driving process improvements and cost optimization through advanced engineering solutions.

ABOUT YOU

To excel in this role, you will have:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a similar industry with a track record of engineering leadership.
  • Expertise in 2D & 3D CAD software (SolidWorks) and strong knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes.
  • A hands-on, problem-solving approach with the ability to lead by example.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to mentor and collaborate across teams.
