Director of Energy Markets (Strategy)

Sydney or Melbourne

Enemix are currently partnering with a leading consultancy that's making a real impact in the energy transition space. They're known for their people-first culture and their ability to deliver high-value strategic advice across the energy supply chain—from major infrastructure projects to innovative market entrants. This thriving team are seeking a Director of Energy Markets (Strategy) to join their team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Energy Markets Strategy Manager to join a high-performing team in either Sydney or Melbourne. You'll be working with top-tier clients including energy retailers, generators, investors, regulators, and developers, helping them navigate complex challenges and shape the future of energy in Australia.

What you'll do

  • Leading consulting engagements that drive strategic change and commercial success across the energy sector.
  • Collaborating with a diverse team to deliver insights and solutions that are both analytically rigorous and commercially grounded.
  • Contributing to business development, shaping internal strategy, and helping grow a market-leading practice.

Projects include:

  • Commercial due diligence and post-acquisition strategy for energy businesses.
  • Optimisation and market analysis for large-scale infrastructure and green fuel developments.
  • Strategic support for new market entrants, from business planning to operational setup.
  • Advising on investment strategies and contracting options for renewable and storage assets.
  • Supporting network operators in adapting to distributed energy and evolving market designs.

What we're looking for

  • 5+ years of experience in the energy markets.
  • Strong background in management consulting, particularly in strategy or commercial due diligence.
  • Proven ability to lead teams and deliver high-impact results in fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable engaging with senior leadership and translating complex analysis into actionable advice.
