Position summary

The Program Leader Family Violence Services and Collaboration provides effective day to

day leadership and operational management to the Family Violence Services and

Collaboration program employees and facilitates a coordinated leadership response with the

Team Lead of The Orange Door and relevant Orange Door Practice Leads.

The programs in the scope of this role include but are not limited to:

  • Family Violence Services - including Victim Survivor case management, therapeutic

interventions, RAMP, after-hours response service and family violence sector support

roles

  • Homelessness Support;

  • Perpetrator Case Management; and

  • Support, collaboration with and integration with The Orange Door Team in the delivery

of the Orange Door services and streamlined pathways to core GCH services.

The Program Leader Family Violence Services and Collaboration is responsible for providing;

leadership to employee; creating and maintaining a psychologically safe and sustainable

working environment that is responsive to client needs. A key part of this role is monitoring

performance and employee wellbeing; and reporting opportunities for operational

improvements, organisational efficiencies and program improvement to the Manager of

Family Violence.

Key responsibilities

Team and people Leadership

1. Provide safe and emotionally intelligent leadership, and operational support to family violence and

homelessness teams, promoting a safe culture, high-performance and values aligned culture.

  1. Provide regular supervision supporting employee retention, health and wellbeing as well as

meeting their program and target requirements.

  1. Lead and coordinate the delivery of services that are in line with specialist family violence 10

principles and standards The Code of Practice for specialist family violence services | Safe and

Equal as well as homelessness sector principles

  1. Support integrated and collaborative practice and service planning for family violence,

homelessness and the Orange Door across the Grampians, Wimmera and central highlands

regions.

  1. Support employee capability through empowerment, training coordination, mentoring and

supervision in line with the mandatory minimum qualifications and standards of effective program

delivery.

  1. Promote sector aligned best-practice approaches in working with victim survivors, children,

homelessness and people who use violence.

  1. Actively uphold and model GCH values, workplace culture and code of conduct. Including

phycological safety and culture for all teams.

  1. Provide holistic and emotional intelligent leadership maintaining workplace respect

Service Delivery

  1. Work independently to maintain all day to day operational requirements of the programs services

and delivery requirements

  1. Deliver programs which align to sector frameworks and legislation including MARAM and other

frameworks. Be up to date with sector framework innovations and changes.

  1. Deliver solution focused leadership, supporting employee empowerment and problem-solving

ensuring safety and best program support for our clients is delivered at a high standard

  1. Support the development of KPI for employee and program. Monitor, support and guide

employees to meet their targets.

  1. Maintain oversight of risk and critical incident management and support employee's to engage in

safe practices within scope of their roles.

  1. Lead your programs to effectively meet specialist Family Violence and Homelessness Funding

providers (e.g DFFH) program guidelines and practices that support client outcomes.

  1. Understand, track, monitor and support service targets for all programs you oversee provide

monthly reports to Management in relation to these

  1. Understand, track, monitor and report brokerage expenditure for all programs you oversee fit within

eligibility criteria and with the aim to expend all brokerage provided.

  1. Contribute to strategic planning, including identification of service gaps and future opportunities.

  2. Work with management to provide other and extra duties in line with GCH requirements and needs

Quality and compliance

19. Ensure programs you oversee meet compliance obligations, and funding body requirements.

  1. Maintain accurate and timely records, reports and data in accordance with funding and quality

frameworks.

  1. Support quality assurance through continuous improvement, evaluation, and audit processes.

  2. Support and lead change management processes and contribute to organisational improvements,

growth and best practice.

Key selection criteria

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Community Services or a related field

(minimum Diploma level; degree preferred). Or other relevant qualifications in line with the

mandatory minimum qualification's framework for family violence

  • Tertiary level business or Leadership related qualifications, (Diploma Levels also

acceptable)

Demonstrated skills and experience

  • Leadership experience in community health, specialist family violence, homelessness or

related sectors.

  • Comprehensive understanding of the family violence and homelessness service systems

and applicable legislative and policy frameworks.

  • Experience in program development, service coordination, employee engagement and

management.

  • Understanding of systemic and intersectional impacts on clients including trauma,

disadvantage and structural barriers.

  • Demonstrated applications of MARAM, the Information Sharing Schemes, and relevant

frameworks.

  • Demonstrated attention to detail with well-developed administrative and organisational

skills to effectively manage high volumes of work and determine priorities, meet targets

and deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and application of computer software, including Microsoft Office

and the Internet.

  • High level verbal and written communication skills that enable effective and appropriate

communication with a broad range of people at all levels.

  • Demonstrated ability to contribute to positive workplace culture and practices.

Licences and registrations

  • Current Victorian driver licence

  • Current National police check (less than 3 months old)
