Junior Accountant

Our firm in the heart of Springvale is expanding and require junior or graduate accountants to meet our client's needs. As this is a junior position, we do not expect any previous experience in the role and all training will be provided on site.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

- Prepare tax statements, financial reports, and BAS (Business Activity Statement) reports as scheduled.

- Assist in business income tax calculations and contribute to financial planning efforts to safeguard clients' financial stability.

- Thoroughly examine clients' financial records for the previous fiscal year and complete clients' tax returns as their representative.

- Identify potential tax deductions and savings opportunities, as well as opportunities to minimize tax liabilities and maximize valid claims for clients.

- Collect necessary details from clients, and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication.

- Offer expert guidance on tax regulations and compliance strategies.

- Demonstrate expertise in tax law and statutory regulations to ensure adherence.

- Organize and manage tax-related documentation, as well as maintain and update our tax database for accurate financial records.

- Stay informed about changes in tax laws and regulations, act as a liaison with regulatory bodies, including the ATO (Australian Taxation Office), as required.

- Utilize general ledger functions and actively participate in month-end/year-end closings.

- Efficiently and accurately handle payroll and single touch payroll via Payroller.

- Utilize accounting software like XERO and QuickBooks proficiently.

· Bachelor of Business (Finance and Accounting) or equivalent

· Effective verbal and written communication abilities.

· Self-driven and capable of independently completing tasks to a high standard.

· Exceptionally organized, detail-oriented, and committed to satisfying client needs.

· Comfortable working directly with clients, displaying confidence in interactions.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $56,000.00 per year
