The Role

Join our Estimating Team as a Project Engineer - Estimating to assist preparing competitive tenders for civil, mechanical, and piping infrastructure projects. Use your site and project execution experience to provide technical and commercial insights across scoping, estimating, and tender documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in generating civil, mechanical, and piping estimates, including take-offs, productivity analysis, and cost data application
  • Attend site visits and contribute to scope reviews, project kick-offs, and execution methodologies
  • Prepare and manage RFQs for suppliers and subcontractors, evaluating quotes for compliance and competitiveness
  • Support tender documentation, including construction methodologies, execution plans, project schedules (with planner support), client returnable documentation, and technical clarifications
  • Compile handover packs for execution on award and post-tender debriefs for continuous improvement

About You

  • 3–5 years of site-based or execution experience in civil, mechanical, or piping construction (with HDPE pipeline experience highly regarded)
  • Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree
  • Proven estimating/tendering experience OR strong construction knowledge with a keen interest in learning estimating principles
  • Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and project scopes across multiple disciplines
  • Proficient in Excel and Word; familiarity with estimating software (e.g., Candy, CostX, Expert Estimation) and scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6) desirable
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
