ABOUT US/ OUR ORGANISATION
The Bigambul Registered Native Title Aboriginal Corporation's (BNTAC) purpose is to preserve pride through cultural identity and see Bigambul and First Nations people become resilient, strong and empowered through leadership, knowledge and education that encapsulates self-determination, economic prosperity and independence. The Bigambul footprint covers four local government areas, including Toowoomba Regional Council, Goondiwindi Regional Council, Balonne Shire Council and Western Downs Regional Council.

BNTAC's Strategic Plan outlines a comprehensive roadmap to uplift the lives of the community members by addressing critical needs and aspirations. The Strategic Plan aims to create a positive and sustainable impact in the areas of housing, education, art & culture, environment, health, economic development, and employment.
About the role
The Workforce Empowerment Project - BNTAC has secured funding for a number of projects that will significantly:

Contribute to the preservation and advancement of historical and traditional lands, cultural knowledge and practices and promote Bigambul connection to country

Provide commercial opportunities to build the economic strength of the Bigambul people
-
Support and build the skills and capacity of Bigambul people through expanded training and employment opportunities
This position will be responsible for the delivery of employment case management services to support Bigambul peoples with work readiness, job placement and post-placement support, to achieve successful training access, skills development, employment take up and employment retention outcomes.
Workforce Empowerment Officer Key Responsibilities -

Support the delivery of an employment and training program that enhances the skills and employment outcomes of local Bigambul and First Nations People

Establish strong employer networks and liaise with potential employers and training organisations to support them to employ Bigambul and First Nations people

Liaise with employers, labour hire companies, Job Active providers, training organisations and other stakeholders to identify training programs and job vacancies to support Bigambul and First Nations people

Participate in activities that drive awareness of employment and training opportunities
-
Work with organisations to address barriers and develop ongoing practical engagement and retention strategies
-
Undertake reporting activities together with other relevant documentation within the scope of your role
-
Maintain the information flow that supports reliable data and documentation in your area of responsibility.

These roles are an 8-month long, full-time project positions with the possibility of extension. A competitive salary package will be negotiated with successful candidates commensurate with skills and experience.
