Apprentices: Year 1 = 60% of salary p.a.

Year 2 = 70% of salary p.a.

Year 3 = 80% of salary p.a.

Year 4 = 90% of salary p.a.

About the role

This position plays a vital role in enhancing the City's success by developing your skills as a Diesel Fitter. You'll receive practical training aligned with your TAFE studies, all within the framework of the City of Hobart's dedicated apprenticeship program.

  • Participate in both on-the-job and off-site training sessions.
  • Support maintenance and construction tasks in the Fabrication Workshop.
  • Help overhaul, repair, and maintain diesel, petrol, hybrid, and gas engines.
  • Work on a variety of vehicles and equipment, ensuring top quality standards.
  • Assist in diagnosing and repairing breakdowns using advanced techniques and data analysis.
