Purpose


•Shape the future of women's activewear by creating progressive, truly functional designs that embody REC GEN's brand DNA empowering movement & enhancing recreation

Key Functions:

Design & Development


•Design women's collections aligned with menswear & accessories for a cohesive brand expression


•Create original sketches, CADs & detailed tech packs for production


•Source and develop innovative fabrics, trims & finishes suitable for performance & style


•Ensure all designs meet REC GEN's standards for fit, function & comfort


•Take ownership to oversee sampling & refinement from concept to final product


•Experiment with cut, fabrication & branding techniques to keep REC GEN evolving

Innovation & Insight


•Anticipate and interpret global trends in women's activewear, sport, & lifestyle


•Interpret trend direction into REC GEN specific designs while maintaining the brand's DNA


•Pioneer next-generation fabrics that redefine performance, evolve sustainably to keep REC GEN ahead of the curve


•Incorporate athlete & community feedback into design evolution, ensuring product is tested & proven

Collaboration & Brand Integration


•Work consistently with Creative Director, production & suppliers to take designs from concept to completion


•Collaborate with marketing to ensure product specifics & stories translate seamlessly into campaigns, shoots &

community activations


•Partner with ecom & retail teams to deliver product with clear brand storytelling

Execution & Excellence


•Own the design process from ideation through to final sample approval


•Champion REC GEN standards for fit, function & detail in every product


•Lead fittings & wear-tests to ensure on brand performance


•Maintain technical accuracy & attention to detail in all tech packs & specs


•Build long-term relationships with factories & mills to push boundaries in fabric, sustainability & performance

Other Functions:


•Support the Creative Director as required


•Contribute to collaborations, capsules & special projects that amplify REC GEN's offering


•Manage & maintain sample library with full ownership

Skills Required


•Superior knowledge of design, garment construction & fit


•Minimum 4 years experience in a womenswear design role for a leading active / swim brand


•Exceptional Adobe CS skills


•Highly organised with exceptional time management skills


•Meticulous attention to detail
