- Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $129,464 to $142,665 + super
Our Innovation Systems and Intelligence team are seeking to appoint a Senior Spatial Analyst (Operations) to lead the delivery of spatial mapping and data services supporting NRAR's field and desktop operations.
The role provides technical expertise in developing and maintaining spatial datasets, applications, and mapping tools critical for regulatory work, operational planning, and field safety. Responsibilities include managing the NRAR_EDIT SQL spatial database, ArcGIS Enterprise and Online datasets, ArcGIS Pro templates, and configuring web and mobile applications (Experience Builder, Field Maps, Survey123), as well as producing WHS safety alert spatial products. The role also supports data governance, metadata, and the creation of maps, dashboards, and field-ready applications for operational staff.
About You
You are a highly skilled GIS professional with extensive experience in spatial data management, enterprise geodatabase maintenance, and operational mapping support. Your expertise spans the ESRI suite of products, enabling you to design and deliver innovative web and mobile mapping solutions that meet diverse business needs.
You bring strong technical capability in process automation using Python and ArcPy, as well as spatial data transformation through ETL tools like FME. Your experience includes supporting operational field teams with tailored spatial products such as WHS safety mapping and compliance-focused web applications, while managing data integration across platforms like Oracle, SQL Server, ArcGIS Enterprise Portal, ArcGIS Online, SharePoint, and cloud environments.
Collaborative and detail-oriented, you excel at maintaining spatial standards, metadata, and documentation to ensure reliable data delivery. You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing multiple projects and priorities to deliver robust spatial solutions that align with evolving regulatory requirements and operational objectives.
Essential Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Spatial Sciences, GIS, Remote Sensing, Environmental Science, Natural Resources, or a related discipline, or demonstrated equivalent professional experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using the ESRI ArcGIS platform, including ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online, Experience Builder, Field Maps, and Survey123, with experience in designing, publishing, and maintaining web maps and applications for operational use.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams to deliver spatial solutions aligned with operational needs
