Description

Muswellbrook Race Club (Hunter Valley NSW) is the training centre for approximately 100 thoroughbreds six days each week. The training and racing facilities include a course proper, B-grass, sand and cinders tracks.

$32-$34 per hour

This position is Monday - Wednesday

4.30am - 9.30am (Hours vary with seasons/ambient morning light)

21 hours per week (with potential for additional hours working on tracks/grounds/gardens)

Key Responsibilities

  • Safely supervise the Muswellbrook Race Club's trackwork activities
  • Ensure compliance by trainers, trackwork riders, stable hands, etc with all RacingNSW and Muswellbrook Race Club regulations
  • Conduct pre-trackwork inspection on all training surfaces and repair or remove hazards
  • Ensure all falls and injuries on the Muswellbrook Race Club grounds are dealt with appropriately according to the Incident Response/Emergency Procedure instructions.
  • Maintain accurate records from trackwork

Requirements

  • Punctuality is imperative
  • Current driver's licence essential
  • A sufficient level of knowledge on potential horse behaviour
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong and clear communication skills
