The Mental Health Specialist role underpins the sustainability and growth of EML through the Personal Injury Team at EML Solutions. The role supports a high performing and customer-responsive team that works strategically under a Mental Health Claims Management Framework with both the employer and employee to reduce both the impact of mental injury and the cost of the claim.

This will be a
full time, permanent
position which can be based from either our
Parramatta
or
Newcastle
office, with flexibility to work from home once fully trained.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support workers with a mental injury for the first 12 weeks and at periodic points during the life of the claim.
  • Early engagement with all stakeholders to identify barriers to recovery and return to work following lodgement of a mental injury claim.
  • Work collaboratively with all stakeholders to develop and support individualised strategy based on best practice solutions to expedite recovery and return to work.
  • Support the Claims Operations Team in efficient and effective gathering of information to accept reasonable and necessary treatment in line with the clinical framework.
  • Drive continuous improvement and innovation through oversight of mental injury recovery and RTW outcome trends. Maintain awareness of industry developments and trends and respond effectively to changes

About You

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar or clinical role, working in a fast-paced business environment
  • Tertiary studies in Allied Health (Psychology, Rehabilitation Counselling, Social Work, Occupational Therapist with Mental Health background)
  • Excellent understanding of mental health injuries with experience working in workers compensation and/or personal injury industries
  • Strong complex case management capabilities with focus on return to work, mental health and medically complex cases
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Qualifications in Mediation AND/OR Mental Health First Aid is considered advantageous
