What You'll Be DoingAs the Farm Manager, you will be responsible for the operation of a 600+ cow operation, milking 3 times a day, leading a team of 6-7. Your duties will include:
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and inspire a motivated team that thrives in a positive, supportive culture. Strong communication and people-first leadership are key.
- KPI & Budget Control: Report directly to the owners on key performance indicators, budgets, and operational targets – driving the business forward with accountability and precision.
- Operational Management: Take responsibility for the overall smooth running of the farm, ensuring all operational requirements are consistently covered. You'll be proactive in planning ahead, maintaining staffing levels, and upskilling your team to keep the operation running efficiently and sustainably.
- Pasture & Herd Health: Manage pasture growth, feed efficiency, and herd wellbeing, ensuring both animal health and productivity are optimised.
- AI & Reproduction Management: Use your artificial insemination expertise to maintain strong conception rates and herd fertility outcomes.
- Work Health & Safety: Maintain and uphold a safe working environment, ensuring compliance and care for all team members.
- Minimum 5+ years experience in the dairy industry
- Minimum 2+ years proven management/leadership experience
- AI qualified, with proven conception rate results
- Strong background in pasture management & herd health
- A hands-on, proactive leader who values teamwork, communication, and continuous improvement
- Salary: $90,000 – $110,000 + Super + House
- Accommodation: A comfortable 3-bedroom house provided as part of the package
