About the Role

As our Communications and PR Officer, you'll play a key role in enhancing the visibility and reputation of The Mutual Bank. You'll deliver strategic communications, build media relations, and create compelling content that reflects our values of Integrity, Respect and Care.

The Communications and PR Officer is a part time position working 3 days per week.

About You

To be considered for this role:

  • You can develop and deliver communication plans that align with our brand, values, and strategic goals, ensuring messages are tailored to the right audiences and channels.
  • You're confident drafting web content, media releases, speeches, reports, newsletters, and Member communications that are engaging, professional, and align with our tone.
  • You're skilled at producing content for digital, print, and social media that tells powerful stories, especially those that highlight Member experiences, community impact and product benefits.
  • You work well with others to source and develop case studies, testimonials, and campaign materials that support broader marketing and communication goals.
  • You're comfortable publishing content across websites, apps, and social media, and you use analytics to monitor performance and refine strategies.
  • You ensure all communications meet industry regulations and internal guidelines, coordinating approvals with management, subject matter experts and compliance teams.
  • You're ready to contribute to project communications and change initiatives, helping our team and Members stay informed and engaged.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in a communications or PR role, preferably in financial services or community focused organisations.
