Head Stockman – Calton Hills Station (1 hour from Mount Isa)

Calton Hills is seeking an experienced, steady and capable Head Stockman to lead our stock camp and support  day-to-day cattle operations across the station. This is a key leadership role on a well-run Northwest pastoral property located just one hour from Mount Isa.

About the Role

The Head Stockman will:

· Lead the stock camp and daily cattle operations.

· Coordinate mustering (heli, bikes, horses, buggies).

· Handle cattle calmly and efficiently with low-stress methods.

· Oversee weaner handling, yard work and herd health.

· Help maintain fencing, waters and general station infrastructure.

· Train and mentor junior staff.

· Work closely with the Station Manager to keep operations running smoothly.

About You

Experienced Stockman with 5+ years experience.

Strong stock skills with a calm, low-stress style.

Confident on horses and/or motorbikes.

Proven ability to lead and train a small team.

Practical, reliable, and safety-focused.

Comfortable living and working in remote northern conditions.
