MRF missions :

Monitoring of the evolution of the financial markets, the P&L, the positions and risks of the European Trading desks, while keeping a global vision of the US and Asian activities.

  • Regular activity reviews and boundary reviews. Responsibility for the supervision of market risks of trading desks: limits and stress tests.
  • Methodologies for measuring risks and calibration of the level of limits. Important limits are validated with the Trading and Market Risk managers.
  • Review and validation of new transactions or new products with a transversal vision of the issues and risks: customer rationality, profitability, consumption of scarce resources (capital, balance sheet, liquidity), compliance, market and counterparty risks.
  • Coordination with RISQ/RMA's expert teams on valuation models and methods, regulatory calculations and counterparty risk.
  • Coordination with the Risk managers of the UK, US and Asia regional platforms

BGL team will contribute to main MRF processes under the supervision of Paris team and by delegation for specific tasks under UK, US and Asia teams. This comprise of:

  • Ad hoc or permanent activity and limits review:

  • Preparatory indicators (historical consumptions, liquidity indicators, connected metrics, breaches, overallocation, revenues) and supporting documents

  • Specific deal validation:

  • Ad hoc numerical studies

  • Monthly and quarterly controls

  • Metrics modelling:

  • Contribution to shocks calibration

  • Data mining and statistical studies to justify mapping and proxy modelling assumptions
  • On-going-monitoring including backtesting exercise

  • Data management (SGMR) and limit book upgrade and maintenance

  • Design and normalization of data base

  • WF execution
  • Limit book update

  • Recurrent slides preparations of group committees

  • Excess committee

  • Global / local MRC/CCRC
  • Local entities

  • Recurrent reporting and permanent supervisions
