Senior Enterprise Risk Manager

A major Australian financial services organisation is seeking an accomplished Senior Manager to lead the uplift and evolution of its enterprise risk frameworks and strategic risk capability.
The organisation has a long-established national presence, a large member-base, and close to 1,000 employees. It continues to enhance its risk maturity and strengthen its Line 2 capability as part of a multi-year transformation.
About the Role
In this senior Line 2 position, you will be responsible for shaping, refining, and governing the organisation's enterprise risk architecture. This includes the Risk Appetite Statement, Risk Management Strategy, risk culture framework, risk maturity model, strategic risk profile, and assurance activities
The role requires a leader who can provide independent challenge while offering strategic insight and practical guidance across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead ongoing development and uplift of the Risk Appetite Statement and enterprise Risk Management Strategy.
- Maintain and evolve frameworks that support risk culture, maturity assessment, strategic risk oversight, and Line 2 assurance.
- Oversee the organisation's strategic risk profile, including facilitation of executive and Board workshops.
- Drive simplification and enhancement of the enterprise risk architecture as part of broader transformation efforts.
- Support major strategic initiatives including M&A due diligence, integration programs, and GRC transformation.
- Deliver high-impact risk insights, advisory support, and executive-level reporting.
About You
You will bring a strong enterprise risk background and the confidence to influence senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have:
- 7+ years experience in risk management with at least 5 years in Line 2 roles
- Experience designing or uplifting enterprise risk frameworks within financial services.
- Strong understanding of APRA prudential standards (e.g. CPS 220, CPS 230) and the three lines of defence.
- Experience with risk culture assessment, maturity modelling, strategic risk analysis, and risk scenario development.
- Exposure to GRC uplift programs, business integration, or M&A environments.
- Exceptional communication skills, including executive storytelling and advanced presentation capability.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, with post-graduate study highly regarded.
