We are looking for a picture framer  to join our friendly and outstanding team at Gallery 360 in West Leederville, WA.

Must be reliable and hardworking and eager to learn the industry - with full industry training and prospects in advancing yourself in the company and creating a Career in Framing and Printing.

ABOUT THE BUSINESS AND THE ROLE

Gallery 360 celebrates 48 years in 2025. We are the only Certified Picture Framing Business in WA and recognised as the leader in the industry.

We work with an A-list of clients to provide a complete art solutions service for customers, from design, scanning and printing to mounting, framing and installation of projects.

We are seeking a picture framer who demonstrates a creative ability, ability to work with your hands, attention to detail and interest in continually stretching your abilities and knowledge. We also require you to have the magical ingredient of "common sense".

Based on the railway line in West Leederville with excellent public transport options and hours for the right person.

JOB TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITES

As a picture framer, you would make frames to protect and display items such as oil paintings, photographs, posters, certificates, and 3D objects including medals or football shirts. Every day is different.

On a typical day, you might:

  • cut mat boards to fit artworks
  • cut glass and materials to the correct size
  • stretch canvas artworks onto wooden stretcher bars.
  • cut and join picture frames
  • mount the object or artwork and assemble the final job
  • wrap and possibly deliver and install the finished framed items for clients.
  • laminate and mount posters
  • work on highly specialised mounting equipment to create digital artworks for artists.

A lot of the work is done by hand but you will also use specialist equipment, such as various saws, mounting and laminating machines, glass cutting equipment, computerised mat cutting machine, guillotines and canvas stretching machines.

The right candidate must have proven ability of very good attention to detail and quality of work. Some mathematical ability is essential to do this job.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

Skills combining one or more of the following will be required for an interview:

  • Picture framing
  • Art or craft experience
  • Wood Working
  • Photo Shop experience
  • Printing
  • Graphic Design
  • experience with cutting machines, saws, etc

What you will bring:

  • Experience in working with your hands in a creative field where attention to fine detail and quality workmanship is mandatory.
  • Ability to work with and handle art carefully.
  • High degree of engagement and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Excellent personal presentation and ability to maintain a organised and tidy work environment.
  • Good physical health and fitness. Some heavy lifting of artworks is involved on a daily basis and you are working on your feet, moving around.
  • Ability to add and subtract for calculating measurements.
  • Picture Framing experience will be highly regarded.
  • Photo Shop and/or Corel Draw software knowledge will be highly regarded.

This is open to full - time applicants. You will be working a 37.5 hour week, Monday to Friday.
