About the role

Metro Fresh Norwood, a leading retailer in Norwood, is seeking a friendly and reliable Fruit and Vegetable Store Assistant to join our team. This is a casual position with the ability to work up to 38 hours for the right applicant.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting customers with their fruit and vegetable purchases, providing exceptional customer service
  • Stocking and maintaining the fresh produce displays to ensure an appealing and well-organised shopping experience
  • Ensuring all produce is properly cared for, rotated and priced correctly
  • Maintaining cleanliness and organisation in the store's fruit and vegetable department
  • Answering customer queries and providing recommendations on seasonal produce and recipes
  • Helping with other store duties as required, such as cashier work and general store maintenance

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in a fruit and vegetable store or supermarket
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a friendly and helpful attitude
  • Good attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • A genuine interest in fresh produce and a willingness to learn about different fruits and vegetables
  • Ability to work in a team and use initiative and be able to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings and must be available weekends
