Cyber & Tech Risk

The mission of our Cyber & Tech Risk (C&TR) practice is to increase public trust and participation in government digital services; a key driver in improving Australia's productivity, equality, resilience, and prosperity. Our subject matter specialists bring scale and expertise across all phases of cyber transformation covering advisory and assurance, AI and data governance, digital identity, technology implementation, and ongoing security operations.

Cyber Alliances

The Scyne Cyber Business has been developing Alliance relationships for 18 months with considerable success; building relationships with key alliances, testing credibility with clients, developing pipeline, creating joint propositions, bidding, winning and now delivering work.

As our business continues to grow we are looking to strengthen our Alliance relationships and create a dedicated role to help focus and grow this business area.

For us, building a structured alliance program is vital for driving cybersecurity growth through partnerships with technology vendors. Such a program enables early pipeline visibility, capability development, and governance, supporting Scyne's transition to tech-led, alliance-driven delivery with higher value and longer engagements.

What we are looking to achieve:



Importance of structured alliances:
Partnering with Product Vendors/Specialist Service Providers is essential for competitive cybersecurity offerings, requiring active collaboration and execution rather than passive support.



Role focus and initial steps:
The role aims to convert existing and generate new cybersecurity sales with / via alliances and establish a repeatable, measurable alliance program, starting with accelerating current partnerships and planning targeted actions.



Core operational areas:
The program focuses on demand generation through joint planning and co-selling, capability development via training and solution embedding, and program maturity with partner prioritization, governance, and reusable materials.



Success metrics and organizational needs:
Key performance indicators include alliance-influenced pipeline value, number of wins, joint pursuits, enablement activities, partner coverage, and satisfaction. Long term success requires dedicated teams, executive sponsorship, strategic impact, and alignment of financial incentives. This first role is about getting the basics in place and generating revenue.

Job Description

Three Critical elements of the role

1. Demand Generation:
Develop Stronger pipeline, earlier positioning in tenders, and improved vendor advocacy. Co-develop joint plans with alliance partners and internal cyber leaders to identify aligned opportunities. Support early-stage opportunity shaping and co-sell activity. Facilitate account mapping, pursuit coordination, and campaign development

2. Capability Development:
Increased credibility in proposals and broader delivery capability. Enable access to partner training, solution accelerators, and technical support. Support internal teams in building readiness to deliver partner-aligned projects. Embed vendor architectures and delivery approaches in go-to-market offerings

3. Program Maturity:
Greater consistency, internal coordination, and scalable ways of working. Define partner prioritisation criteria and tiered engagement models. Establish governance, internal comms, and reporting processes. Create reusable materials such as briefings and playbooks

In this role, you will create value by:

  • Leading the creation / prioritisation of new capabilities, products or services based on market demand across our key alliances.
  • Lead or supporting MDs / other Directors with business development activities involving our alliances, this would include delivering client presentations, shaping opportunities, driving proposal development, optimising competitive RFT/RFP responses, creating re-useable cost models, and supporting client presentations / demonstrations. Running the process from start to finish.
  • Leading alliance relationships, building trust, co-designing propositions and supporting members of their team to ensure we are well placed to bid with or on behalf of them.
  • Leveraging your advisory and consulting skills set to develop high quality outcomes to our clients through a combination of being highly visible throughout the opportunity development process, and continued through to delivery. This will also include coaching other members of the team about the impact we are aiming for with this alliance and the client.
  • Managing the budget of client engagements to ensure they are delivered on time and on budget.
  • Managing a team of consultants and providing guidance and mentoring to ensure their professional growth.

Qualifications

Technically, you will bring to the position:

  • A business builder mindset, you would have a proven track record of building and growing high impact partnerships that drive revenue for us and create sustainable value for our clients.
  • 10+ years of industry experience working in consulting / professional services developing excellent business development, relationship building and client delivery skills.
  • A sound understanding of what it takes to design, build and grow an alliances-based business, Your skills would mean you are a natural at establishing trust quickly, co-developing ideas for clients, gaining confidence in your alliances team, presenting to clients as a united team all the way through to navigating delivery challenges and difficult client conversations.
  • Comfortable entering into a newly created role, where you get to lead the design / creation / ambition of a mature Alliances business
  • Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced, and collaborative environment.
  • Technical mindset to quickly grasp an alliances capability (at a moderate - high level) to enable you to quickly qualify how it might compliment current clients / existing projects & capabilities
  • Domain knowledge in Cyber security, AI, Data governance, enterprise technologies
  • Commercial mindset, excellent discipline around opportunities and salesforce hygiene
  • Strong communication skills for both upward reporting and client / alliance / team engagement
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to lead a team of people in the delivery of medium to complex projects.
