The Configuration Management Specialist plays a critical role in ensuring the accurate technical configuration management to support decision-making and operational needs. This role applies established methodologies to analyse data and deliver timely, relevant information to stakeholders, while continuously developing expertise to enhance the quality and efficiency of technical configuration management processes.

Tasks:

  1. Responsible for the collection and management of information from one or more sources.
  2. Apply advanced engineering techniques to solve complex configuration and data management challenges.
  3. Lead and influence configuration control activities in support of Defence capability assurance and sustainment.
  4. Contribute to the development and implementing configuration management strategies, frameworks, and policy compliance.
  5. Act as a technical ambassador, fostering collaboration between teams and driving continuous improvement in engineering processes.
  6. Deliver measurable outcomes across assigned responsibilities including scope, staffing, and budget.
  7. Support strategic program objectives through effective configuration governance and lifecycle control.
  8. Execute day-to-day activities in accordance with the Configuration Management Plan. i) Other duties as directed.

Qualification:

  • Strong understanding of configuration and data management principles across the system lifecycle.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent work experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Extensive technical experience, preferably within Defence or complex systems
  • environments.
  • Experience with Defence technical regulations, engineering frameworks,

and asset management systems (e.g. MIL-STD, ASDEFCON, CASG processes).

Candidate requirement:

1 . Have an Australian Government security clearance - Essential

2.Relevant qualifications and industry experience - Essential

3.Demonstrated experience working with CASG with experience and ability to project manage, plan and deliver acquisition activities, deliverables and artefacts in the Defence Capability Life Cycle environment - Essential

4.Demonstrated communication and stakeholder management skills and experience - Essential
