About the role
Altrad is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join our team on a major Iron Ore Structural Remediation project in the Pilbara. This site-based role operates on a 2:2 FIFO roster from Perth, offering the opportunity to contribute to a key long-term maintenance project within the resources sector.
In this position, you'll play a vital role in driving a proactive safety culture, implementing and maintaining health, safety, and environmental systems, and ensuring compliance with legislation, standards, and company policies.
Key responsibilities include:
- Implement and maintain HSE management systems in alignment with company and client requirements
- Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections, ensuring proactive hazard management
- Lead incident investigations and develop improvement actions to prevent recurrence
- Facilitate and contribute to pre-starts, toolbox talks, and HSE training sessions
- Review and oversee permits, JSA and SWMS documentation
- Provide coaching and mentoring to the workforce to drive ownership of HSE outcomes
- Collaborate with project leadership to identify and implement process improvements
- Maintain strong communication with stakeholders and uphold Altrad's "Our Safety Culture" values
About you
You're a confident communicator with a hands-on approach and a passion for driving safety excellence in the field. You thrive in dynamic environments and enjoy working collaboratively to achieve shared goals.
You'll bring:
- Diploma in OH&S, HSEQ, Risk Management, or a related discipline (minimum Cert IV required)
- 5+ years' experience in a HSE role, ideally within construction or maintenance in the resources sector
- Strong working knowledge of relevant HSE legislation, standards, and best practices
- Demonstrated experience in incident investigation and HSE system implementation
- Ability to deliver engaging training and toolbox sessions to diverse teams
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint)
- Strong communication, influencing, and problem-solving skills
