The Role

The Driving Instructor is an integral member of our team. The Driving Instructor is responsible for providing individualized driving instruction to students in order to help them obtain their driver's license. They play a crucial role in teaching students the necessary skills, knowledge, and techniques to become safe and responsible drivers. A Driving Instructor must have excellent communication skills, patience, and a strong understanding of traffic laws and driving regulations.

Flexible hours, days and times for those wishing to use this as a part time role or fulltime is welcome. Required Qualifications

1. A valid Queensland driver's unrestricted CA licence (held for 12 months)

2. Prior experience as a driving instructor is preferred, but not always required. - we can assist with costs involved to become an accredited instructor - TLI41222—Certificate IV in Motor Vehicle Driver Training

3. A Working with Children (Paid Blue Card) is required. - we can assist with costs

The ideal candidate will have:

1. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information and instructions to students.

2. Patience and the ability to remain calm and composed while teaching nervous or inexperienced drivers.

3. Strong knowledge of traffic laws, road signs, and driving regulations.

4. Exceptional observation skills to quickly identify and correct errors in driving techniques.

5. The ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs and learning styles of students.

6. Excellent organizational skills to develop lesson plans and maintain accurate records.

7. Be confident in providing clear and concise instructions to students.

8. Possess strong problem-solving skills to address any challenges or difficulties that may arise during driving lessons.

9. Be reliable and punctual to ensure that all scheduled lessons are conducted on time.

10. Work collaboratively with all staff to offer consistently high standards of student and family support in a professional manner whilst supporting the values and ethos of the school.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

1. Conduct practical driving lessons for students.

2. Teach students the rules of the road, including traffic laws, road signs, and defensive driving techniques.

3. Provide instruction on vehicle operation and handling, including parallel parking, turning, merging, and braking.

4. Demonstrate proper driving techniques and safety procedures to students.

5. Assess students' driving skills and provide constructive feedback for improvement.

6. Help students prepare for their driver's license exams by practicing manoeuvres, hazard perception, and driving in various traffic conditions.

7. Develop lesson plans and tailor instruction to meet the specific needs and abilities of each student.

8. Maintain accurate records of each student's progress and attendance.

9. Monitor and enforce safety regulations and ensure that students understand and follow all traffic laws and regulations.

10. Stay updated on changes in driving laws and regulations to effectively teach students and ensure compliance.
