What's on offer?
We are looking to hire a Junior
Planner/Scheduler
to join our Southern Region Pre-contracts Team, based in Richmond reporting to the Pre-contracts Planning Manager Predrag Draca. You will assist our Pre-contracts team in pursuit of (tendering) new infrastructure projects across a range of industry sectors, including wind farms, airports, roads and bridges, ports, water treatment plants, pipelines, etc. In addition, occasionally you will support our delivery teams as required.

In this role you'll be responsible for:
Working closely with the Pre-Contracts and Project Delivery Teams, you will:
- Actively contribute to the pre-contracts/delivery team efforts in development of construction methodologies, delivery/traffic strategies, staging/zoning, productivity rates, Inclement Weather Allowance, etc.
- Prepare tender programs and supporting documentation as required.
- Develop and maintain master/construction programs in either MS Project or Primavera P6;
- Participate and actively contribute to the identification of and response to project risks and opportunities;
- Advise bid/project teams on our methodology strategies to achieve program and budget requirements;
- Implement project planning & monitoring procedure, processes and systems, particularly focusing on time, cost, resources & quality (project controls & earned value)
- Measure and report program/project performance based on KPI's and Earned Value Analysis
- Assist Project Managers in report interpretation, analysis of project performance and development corrective actions
- Assist teams in building custom reports to suit a number of key customers and contract deliverables
- Proactively lead a planning and controls culture across the project based on best practice
- Compile and collate reference and benchmarking data for future planning purposes in accordance with the Basis of Schedule.
How you'll connect to the role:
- A relevant Engineering/Construction degree or equivalent
- You must be an innovative Planning Engineer with an eye for detail, a problem-solving attitude, together with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
- You must be a team player with excellent communication skills and abilities to work within a busy team environment, but yet someone who, when required, is capable of working on their own with minimum or no supervision
- A basic understanding of planning and scheduling principles and software including MS Project and (potentially) Primavera P6,
- Your previous site experience as a site/project engineer in construction/delivery, planning project controls, forecasting and project management of a different infrastructure projects including roads and bridges, structures, light and heavy rail, airports, wind farms, etc will make you an ideal candidate for the job
- Experience in developing and maintaining weekly and monthly lookahead programs and progress reports
