Made In Italy Pyrmont is seeking an experienced Cook to join our team on a permanent full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for administering all phases of the kitchen operation ensuring that the kitchen is run to the restaurant's operational standards.

The responsibilities include:

• Daily preparation of food items on the menu

• Measuring of ingredients required for the specific food items being prepared

• Washing, cutting, and preparing animal meats

• Preparation of necessary sauces or accompaniments before meals are served

• Prepare all food items in a sanitary and timely manner

• Restocking of food items during the shift

• Ordering food and supplies as needed

• Monitor and maintain stock levels to reduce waste

• Clean and maintain cooking station by practicing good safety, sanitation, and organisational skills

• Assist with the cleaning and organisation of the kitchen, cool room, freezer, and all storage areas

The right candidate will have the following Skills and experience:

• Relevant Australian qualification: Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery preferred

• Minimum 3 years experience in hospitality industry as a cook, in Italian Cuisine preferred

• Experience with special dietary requirements

• Be able to order, source, prepare and cook Italian food to a high standard

• Manage and recruit team members as needed

• Provide training and mentoring to staff members

• A proven track record of attendance reliability and a professional attitude

• Ability to show initiative and problem-solving capability

The employment is full-time, with min. 38 hours per week. Salary range between $73,150 to $75,000 plus superannuation based on skills and experience.
