The Business

A larger privately owned financial services business that encompasses a wide range of services including retail and wholesale financial and investment advice, finance, legal and accounting is working through expansion plans and now in need of a senior financial advisor. Part of the business establishes JVs with referral partners and this position will work closely with a referral partner to take in clients. Clients from this referral partner with be over the $3m of investible assets and will likely have more complicated financial arrangements and needs. Location is Melbourne CBD.

The Role

Working most of the time in the referral partner's office, you will also work in the head office, but this will be dependent on where demand drives you. Your support will come from head office and the two offices are located close to one another. Responsibilities include:

  • building a sound and productive relationship with the referral partner
  • engage with new clients and retain existing clients through service
  • provide a broad range of advice, engaging with the clients' accountants and other professional services
  • stay up to date with markets and approved investment offerings - there is wide range of investment offerings that suit more niche/wholesale type clients

Your Skills and Experience

You are an experienced financial advisor. In an ideal world you have had experience in dealing with both wholesale and retail clients, but retail is a must for this role. You might be quite experienced, or someone savvy and smart and see yourself as a person with high energy and can take on a larger role. You will be on the advice register.

The Offer

This role offers a good base remuneration, plus bonus of c. 30%. It also provides a genuine opportunity to take up equity with the business.
