The role
The Dispatch Operations Coordinator is responsible for safely and efficiently managing site-level dispatch activities. This includes overseeing inventory, coordinating the loading and unloading of trucks, scheduling deliveries, liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and completing all administrative tasks associated with dispatch. A key focus of the role is ensuring service accuracy, compliance, and cost control at every stage.
What you will do:
- Coordinate daily dispatch activities, bookings, and delivery scheduling
- Supervise dispatch team members and truck drivers
- Manage inventory, consignment stock, yard layout and stocktake participation
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and site Traffic Management Plans
- Confirm deliveries and communicate with customers, sales, and customer service teams
- Complete daily invoicing and maintain order accuracy using internal systems
- Oversee loading practices to ensure correct product selection, restraint, and quality control
- Investigate and resolve consignment issues, dispatch errors, and invoicing discrepancies
- Lead daily team communications and maintain safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
- Drive continuous improvement in dispatch operations and yard efficiency
About you:
- Experience in dispatch, logistics, transport, or warehousing operations
- Strong communication and stakeholder coordination skills
- Proven experience supervising teams or drivers
- Competent with Outlook, Excel, Word, and dispatch/admin systems
- Strong attention to detail with a safety and compliance mindset
- Problem-solving ability and continuous improvement focus
- Forklift licence (LF) – essential
- Experience with TMS or inventory systems desirable
