About the role

As the Building Maintenance Officer at H2O Broadwater in Southport, Queensland, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and upkeep of our commercial premises. This full-time position is integral to maintaining the high standards of our company and providing a safe, comfortable environment for our employees and customers.

What you'll be doing

  1. Conducting regular inspections of the building's interior and exterior to identify and address any maintenance issues
  2. Performing a variety of maintenance tasks, including minor repairs, painting, plumbing, and electrical work
  3. Coordinating with external contractors and vendors to schedule and oversee larger-scale projects
  4. Maintaining detailed records of all maintenance activities and expenditures
  5. Responding promptly to any urgent repair requests or emergencies
  6. Ensuring the building's compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations
  7. Assisting with the setup and breakdown of events or special projects as needed

What we're looking for

  1. Relevant trade qualifications or equivalent experience in building maintenance or facilities management
  2. Strong practical skills and the ability to work with a variety of tools and equipment
  3. Good time management and problem-solving skills to prioritise tasks and address issues efficiently
  4. Excellent communication and customer service skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders
  5. A proactive and flexible approach to work, with the ability to respond to changing demands
  6. A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to different sites as required
