About the role

We're seeking world-class educators to inspire the next generation of Language, Literacy, Numeracy, Digital Literacy students by joining our team of teachers on a permanent full-time basis, located at Mount Druitt Campus, travel to other TAFE NSW campuses and work within the community required.

In this role you will deliver educational programs and facilitate learning, enabling students to achieve their desired outcomes. You'll be at the frontline of transforming educational outcomes, helping learners who may have previously faced barriers to literacy, numeracy and digital skills gain the tools they need for independence, further education, and meaningful work. By fostering foundational skills in a culturally safe and respectful learning environment, you'll make a direct contribution to empowering students and nurturing enduring community impact. Through mentoring and guidance, you'll also support students in building confidence, setting goals, and navigating their educational journeys—creating lasting relationships that inspire growth and resilience. Use your industry experience in engagement programs and creating meaningful engagement initiatives.

Essential Requirements:

  • Aboriginality (Aboriginality is a genuine occupational qualification and is authorised under Section 14 of the Anti-Discrimination Act of Candidates selected for an interview must provide Confirmation of Aboriginality documentation at or before interview.

  • A recognised* Bachelor degree (AQF 7) in education, with an LLND focus

OR

  • A recognised* postgraduate qualification (AQF 8 or higher) in LLND

OR

  • A qualification at AQF5 (or above) and relevant experience in an LLND area

Note: successful applicants coming in under #3 must complete Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching (ALaNT) + TAELLN skillset (TAESS00026 or predecessor) within 18 months of engagement (ALaNT expected to be available from S2, 2026).

  • From an accredited Australian Higher Education Institution, or qualification recognised as equivalent to the stated AQF level or higher by the Australian Government Country Education Profiles (CEPs) tool

  • Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications with a minimum level of Diploma of Community Services, Diploma of Adult Education or Diploma of Aboriginal Studies or equivalent.

  • Evidence of holding the appropriate teaching qualifications to deliver Vocational Education and Training (see the candidate support document (here) for details ) OR a willingness to undertake our full time 14 week 'Paid to Learn' course
  • Have a minimum of two (2) year post-qualification experience relevant to your industry

Paid to Learn: for candidates who do not hold an appropriate VET teaching qualification or equivalent, you have the option to be paid to learn as you transition from industry to teaching with guaranteed work following successful completion of the 14 weeks Training and Assessment course. Those who already hold the appropriate teaching qualification or equivalent are still eligible to apply.
