Reef Maritime PTY LTD is a Marine Consultants and Cargo surveyor company founded in 2004 servicing North Queensland ports from Mackay to Cairns, with offices in Mackay and Townsville.

We are seeking a marine surveyor, Qualified with Master Class 1 Certificate, to join our experienced team and be based at Townsville and service nearby ports.   A wide range of duties apply but not limited to the following:

Marine surveying experience preferred but not essential, training packages provided.

· draft survey and trimming of dry bulk vessels

· General Cargo surveying duties

· Onhire condition and bunker surveys

· Vessel Vetting surveys

· pre-load hold cleanliness inspections

· conducting inspections/surveys when required on all types of vessels both onshore and ocasionally offshore

· preparation of survey reports such as damage, P&I  inspections,

· liaison with clients, shipping agents and vessel staff

To be successful the applicant must :

· Possess a Master Class 1 Certificate on ocean going vessels, preferably with Shipping and general bulk carrier experience

· Experience in draft surveying/loadmaster role on cargo vessels preferred.

· Fluency in English

· Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills

· Be able to obtain or have a valid MSIC

· Valid Australian Drivers Licence and able to travel at times

· Familiarity with Microsoft Office software

· Be able to pass a pre-employment medical

· Have strong problem solving and negotiation skills

· Be able to work evenings, nights, public holidays etc

· Be able to work independently and good teamwork orientated.

You would be required to start with a Training package and supervision.   We are a very family orientated, team focused group of Marine surveyors with flexible leave conditions.   Package would include Car, Computer, Phone and office support.    An Attractive base Salary with excellent performance bonuses well above industry standards apply.
