What You'll Be Doing
Provide professional governance and strategic leadership across the Health Information Service, privacy and all related health record functions across the Local Health District (LHD).

Promote best practice in health information management to ensure an efficient and effective service is provided to all

facilities and services.

Selection Criteria

  • Tertiary qualifications in Health Information Management as recognised by the Health Information Management Association of Australia or equivalent experience, broad professional knowledge and an excellent understanding of health information management practice.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills in creating and supporting a positive workplace culture, team motivation and empowerment to achieve outcomes and successfully navigate change.
  • Demonstrated knowledge in the interpretation and application the regulations and policies relating to health information, privacy principles, release of health information.
  • Practical experience in managing health records in the range of environments (paper, digital and electronic) and providing advice to the organization on management of these records in accordance with the regulations, and best practice standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the experience in preparation of executive briefs, project documentation, reports, strategy and policy and procedure documents.
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with an ability to provide strategic guidance and advice on policy implications, and implementation options to improve health information services.
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve operational goals.
  • Current unrestricted drivers' licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
