Hello. We're Virgin Australia. We're the airline that's always done things a little different. Our way. The Virgin way. We're on a mission to make flying better than 'nice'. And to do that, it takes a team of talented people who are passionate about customer experience, doing the right thing always, with a focus on safety – in the air, on the ground and in our workplaces. A team who values real diversity and inclusion, in a big brand with big ambitions.
What you'll be doing:
As the Workspace Planning Specialist, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping dynamic, functional, and future-ready environments for our aviation-focused teams. Reporting to the Design and Construction Program Manager and working closely with our project management team, you'll lead the planning and optimisation of workspaces across our corporate offices and airport-based facilities.
In this autonomous and strategic role, you'll ensure our physical environments evolve in line with the changing needs of our people and the business. Your work will support operational efficiency, employee wellbeing, and an exceptional workplace experience—making our spaces not just places to work, but places where people thrive.
You'll be great in this role if you:
- Hold qualifications in Interior Design and/or Architecture
- Bring at least 10 years' experience in workspace planning, design management, space planning, drawing documentation, and project delivery
- Are proficient in AutoCAD or similar design software
- Communicate clearly and manage your time effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Have a solid understanding of the National Construction Code, relevant Australian and International Standards, WH&S, legal compliance, and environmental requirements related to property design and delivery
- Are familiar with Safety in Design principles
- Have experience in Project Management or Construction Management (desirable)
- Understand the unique requirements of airport environments (desirable)
- Have managed corporate or operational relocations (desirable)
- Understand construction projects and contracts (desirable)
- Have knowledge of Facility Management practices (desirable)
- Are experienced in using MS Project (desirable)
- Consider sustainability and environmental impacts in your workspace and design solutions (desirable)
