• Lawyer with 3 – 5 years' PAE
• Thriving law firm with 90+ staff
• First Tier law firm in Wills & Estates
• Excellent mentoring and opportunities for career progression
• No time recording – value pricing
• Hybrid work model –opportunity to work from home and office
Moores is a values-driven law firm that is committed to making a difference for our clients, our people and the communities in which we operate.
We are looking for a talented lawyer who wants to propel their career as part of our high-performing, friendly and collegiate team. Our Wills & Estates team is one of the largest in Australia (including 7 Accredited Specialists) and was ranked as a First Tier Law Firm in both categories of Wills & Estates in the 2025 Doyles Guide (as well as the past 7 years).
You will be mentored by accredited specialists and Practice Leaders, who invest in your growth and development.
About the role
This is no ordinary Wills & Estates role. You will be part of the estate planning team, comprising a team of Wills and Estates and SMSF Accredited Specialists. The focus is to meet the demand of our clients for top notch estate planning and structuring work.
You will be exposed to all aspects of complex estate planning and structuring because our clients look to us to do the work that most legal practices cannot do. This ranges from Wills with all varieties of testamentary trusts, addressing SMSF and trust interests, and devising the strategies behind the planning.
About you
You will be a talented Estate Planning lawyer with at least 3 years' PAE and a desire to specialise and to develop your profile in this area. We would value demonstrated experience in relation to estate planning, superannuation matters, tax or trusts.
We value the following skills:
• strong drafting skills with keen attention to detail
• an appetite and aptitude for complex and detailed matters
• strong relational skills with a focus on delivering exceptional client service
• communicating confidently, clearly with empathy
• an ability to work in a collaborative and collegiate environment
• excellent research, drafting and communication skills
• a commitment to building strong client relationships and building your profile and practice.
About us
Moores is not a traditional law firm. We are unique because:
• We actually innovate – we were the first law firm to ditch time sheets in favour of value pricing. We price value, not time.
• Our staff love working here – Moores recently ranked in the top 25% of Australian organisations surveyed by InSync in relation to employee engagement.
• We are truly flexible – a large proportion of our staff and practice leaders work flexibly or part time.
• We are proudly inclusive and committed to equality – our CEO and more than 50 percent of our practice leaders and senior leadership team are female.
• We pride ourselves on being professional, but we don't wear suits unless we have to.
• We value work-life balance, so we focus on working smarter.
• We have a strong commitment to social impact. We focus on working with purpose aligned clients to deliver great outcomes that benefit the community.
• We keep it real - we're a down to earth bunch who listen and are open with each other. We don't take ourselves too seriously.
• We do it with heart – people are the heart of Moores. We care about each other, and we are proud of the culture we have created.
Other benefits of joining our team include:
• Opportunities to work on multi-disciplinary teams.
• Access to interesting, challenging and varied work.
• Supportive Practice Leaders who are committed to your professional development and provide training.
• Tailored learning and development initiatives.
• A supportive and enthusiastic team, which thrives on working collaboratively with clients to find solutions to complex problems.
• Leave purchase options and a wellbeing program.
