Are you keen to be part of a professional team working together to support the safety, well-being and positive life outcomes for children and young people in the child protection and Foster / Kinship Care system in Regional NSW?

As a Foster & Kinship Care Caseworker, you will be responsible for all aspects of case management to ensure the safety, wellbeing and positive outcomes for children and young people within the Out of Home Care service.

The successful applicants will work within a supportive and passionate team at Riverina Medical & Dental Aboriginal Corporation to deliver these services and to ensure the best culturally appropriate therapeutic outcomes for Aboriginal children, young people and their families.

Riverina Medical and Dental Aboriginal Corporation (RivMed) is a long-established Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation in the heart of Wiradjuri Country.

RivMed work to effect change in the most marginalised and vulnerable people in our community. We work to achieve this through the provision of culturally appropriate medical and well-being services for Aboriginal people and their families.

About You:

This is not an Aboriginal identified role however Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.

  1. Minimum qualification is a Diploma in Community Services / counselling or related field; or equivalent relevant experience working with vulnerable children, young people and their families.
  2. Experience in case management working with Aboriginal Children & Families & Young People or, relevant experience working with children and young people.
  3. Demonstrated understanding of the needs of children & young people who have entered or are about to enter the Foster Care system.
  4. Proven ability to work effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
  5. Demonstrated capacity to network with a range of health, education and welfare services.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with proven ability to write case notes, assessments and reports.
  7. Excellent organisational and administrative skills, including competent computer skills.
