About the roleResponsibilities
  • Provide agronomic and technical support, recommending products and services to strengthen clients' businesses
  • Achieve financial objectives, assist with forecasting, and manage inventory
  • Promote staff upskilling through technical advice and product recommendations
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships, identifying new sales opportunities
  • Assist with field days, farmer meetings, and trial/demonstration work
  • Lead and mentor the rural products sales team to build client relationships and drive success
  • Manage retail operations, exceed targets, and track product performance
  • Source new business and assist with sales targets and business planning
  • Oversee sales transactions and coach the sales team to meet targets while supporting national initiatives
  • Export monitoring for table grapes, with audits in Nov or Feb/March
  • Act as an export consultant for table grapes, offering expertise on export rules
  • Provide agronomy advice for table grapes, avocados and citrus
  • Maintain contact with the branch to monitor crop progress and manage stock
  • Develop full-season spray and fertiliser programs for table grapes and avocados
  • Monitor pest pressure for table grapes, avocados and citrus
  • Conduct soil, leaf, and MRL testing
About you
  • Able to thrive in a collaborative working environment
  • Are smart, resourceful, and able to embrace industry research and new technology
  • Are passionate about effecting real change for both your clients and your community – with building and maintaining relationships at the core of your work
  • Have a proven track record in sales and previous experience in an agronomy role
  • Have a qualification in Agronomy and aim to grow your expertise while also managing a rural products team
  • Have an ability to provide high-level customer service and cultivate relationships with potential and current growers
  • Have a tertiary qualification in agricultural science or a related field
  • Thrive in a flexible and agile working environment
