About the role:
Reporting to the Risk Reporting Manager, Financial Risk, this is a pivotal role that will analyse risks within Origin's commodity trading portfolios including Oil, LNG, Gas and Coal.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the development of tools and analytical models to provide insights into the energy commodity landscape and Origin's market exposures.
- Manage the operation of key risk models, including data sourcing, validation, and reconciliation of model inputs and outputs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely risk reporting, fostering strong working relationships across teams.
- Communicate market developments and trading position changes across the commodity portfolio in a clear and effective manner.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of risk models, methodologies, and assumptions, and assist with the coordination and administration of risk committee activities.
What will you bring:
A proactive approach to learning and developing relationships. Tertiary qualifications in a economics, mathematics or related discipline (CFA). In addition, you'll possess:
- Experience in energy derivatives and commodity markets.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly.
- Advanced Excel skills; experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau.
- High attention to detail, particularly in data validation and reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of quantitative finance concepts, including Value at Risk (VaR) and option pricing.
- Proficiency in programming and data tools such as VBA, SQL, and Python.
