Sprint Horticulture is a dynamic, creative and forward thinking horticultural company.
We are looking for a technically qualified person who can grow our crops to a very high standard. The successful candidate will demonstrate great care for the watering and fertilisation of crops. This is a full time position which would include some weekend work on a rotational basis with other staff members.
This is a very important position in our company because watering and fertilisation regulate and have a huge impact on growth speed, yield and quality. All of which are critical in our business.
The young plant division of our company produces a range of crops covering landscape plants, indoor plants, flowering shrub plants, flowering perennials and succulents. Our young plants are shipped Australia wide to a broad customer base.
The retail added-value division produces retail pot plants from 12cm to 20cm in diameter for use in added-value items supplied to major retailers.
Key responsibilities:
- Daily responsibilities involve the irrigation and fertilsation of greenhouse crops using automated boomspray, ebb-and-flow benches, and overhead sprinkler systems
- Trimming and pruning of crops using trimming machinery
- Crop maintenance
- Pest and disease issue identification
These skills and experience are highly desired:
- Experience in plant propagation, plant nursery production or other horticultural crop production
- Experience in watering commercial crops
- Tertiary study in Production Horticulture or a similar field
