The Manager, Intelligence is responsible for leading and managing a team of Intelligence Advisor/s and Analysts in the performance of intelligence operations and the provision of comprehensive intelligence advice to manage risk within the operating environment. In addition to providing strategic guidance and setting priorities for the team, this role also focuses on performance and professional development of staff.
The Manager, Intelligence will:
• Manage and lead a team of Intelligence staff through the application of contemporary management practice and in strict adherence to established delegations.
• Participate as an effective member of the management team in the execution, promotion, and implementation of the agency's strategic direction and operational plans.
• Provide briefings to senior management on priority intelligence issues to support tactical, operational and strategic decision-making.
• Provide oversight, deliver workflow management, prioritise, and allocate work tasks appropriately and encourage and promote a strong work ethic to achieve team results.
• Perform administrative tasks associated with supervising a team, including reviewing timesheets, managing leave requests, and ensuring professional
development opportunities are provided to staff.
• Promote and nurture a team culture that has good morale, values diversity and interacts effectively with diverse target groups.
• Ensure compliance with reporting timeframes, governance, and oversight of functional allocations within the team.
• Ensure that training and development opportunities are provided to staff.
• Contribute to the enhancement of the intelligence team's knowledge base of relevant strategic and operational issues impacting the agency and the respective location.
• Have a thorough understanding of the operating environment and associated risks through the monitoring of activities, focusing on the collection, analysis and reporting of critical threats, risks, and issues relevant to the agency.
• Identify potential targets, along with associated risks and emerging trends critical for maintaining a safe and secure correctional environment.
