The Head of Supplier Relationships is responsible for leading the governance, performance, and strategic management of primarily CPS 230 material contract suppliers—both internal and external—across AMP's Superannuation and Investment business. This role ensures effective oversight of key supplier contracts in insurance, investments, product governance, and administration, supporting AMP's commitment to delivering strong member outcomes and maintaining regulatory compliance. The role works in deep collaboration with Superannuation Product, Investment Product, Operations, Risk, Workplace Accounts, and cross-functional partners, including the Trustee Office.

How you'll make an impact

Supplier Governance & Performance Management

  • Lead and govern relationships with agreed CPS 230 material contract suppliers primarily focussed on insurance, ensuring robust oversight and compliance with AMP's risk appetite and regulatory obligations.
  • Monitor supplier performance against agreed KPIs and metrics, implementing corrective actions to mitigate risks and drive accountability.
  • Partner with the Trustee Office to ensure timely and accurate reporting and delivery of agreed contractual obligations.

Strategic Supplier Engagement

  • Act as the lead supplier negotiator for agreed material suppliers, driving value through commercial negotiations and contract management.
  • Conduct regular research and benchmarking to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities in supplier domains, incorporating insights into supplier strategy and engagement.

Insurance solution management

  • End-to-end solution management for the AMP Super insurance offer, including strategic planning, market analysis, collateral development, governance and reporting, and compliance oversight.
  • Combine customer led insurance solutions with commercial considerations of overall risk pool management in conjunction with insurance partners and workplace distribution.
  • Accountability of insurance disclosures to members and alignment of disclosures to insurance policies, processes and implementation.

AMP Super internal supplier reporting and member disclosure

  • Strong engagement and profile with Superannuation Trustee, Investment Management and Administrator Boards.
  • Internal governance of reporting requirements to internal boards. Requiring collaboration with internal business units and collation of data.
  • Governance and coordination of activities for agreed policies supporting member disclosure production.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Collaborate closely with internal business units, such as Superannuation Product, Investment Product, Operations, and Workplace Accounts, to support agile business development and execution.
  • Foster effective cross-functional relationships to ensure alignment and optimal delivery across the supplier landscape.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across supplier management processes, fostering a culture of innovation, efficiency, and customer-centricity.
  • Champion the development and adoption of best practices in supplier management, ensuring AMP remains at the forefront of industry standards

What you will bring to the team

Ideally, you will bring the following experiences to this role: 

  • 10+ years' extensive professional and management experience in supplier management, contract governance or procurement within financial services, superannuation and/or investments
  • Experience in working with relevant regulators (e.g. ASIC and APRA), and current and proposed financial services regulatory and legislative requirements.
  • Proven ability to manage large complex and material supplier contracts, ideally within a CPS230 context.
  • Proven experience to deliver results through others via effective leadership and coaching
  • Relevant experience as a senior adviser to Accountable Executives, and experience in being part of a senior leadership team with a focus on providing strategic risk advice and guidance or compliance advice, as well assisting in designing and implementing operational risk controls, controls testing and reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience in "thinking outside in" – applying competitor and regulatory insights to inform action.
  • Experience of working with a board of Trustees and delivering to SLA's and performance measures
  • Previous experience in writing Board level reporting and preparing management insights and managing a governance function (e.g. Secretariat/ Committees/Frameworks)
  • Strong experience in leading and implementing change
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements with specific reference
  • Experience in identifying, assessing and addressing operational and other risks within a superannuation and/or investment business
