About the Role
As a Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner at Ability to Achieve, you will play a key role in supporting individuals with complex behaviours and diverse needs. This is a full-time, permanent position based in Mortdale/Revesby, NSW, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful and lasting impact in the lives of those you support.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive behavioural assessments to identify triggers and underlying functions of behaviours of concern
- Design and implement individualised Positive Behaviour Support Plans to foster skill development and promote self-regulation
- Provide training and coaching to families, carers, and support staff to ensure consistency and success in implementing strategies
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure a holistic, person-centred approach
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and adjust strategies as needed
- Maintain accurate documentation and case notes in line with organisational and NDIS requirements
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of behaviour support practices within the organisation
About You
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, or a related discipline
- Graduate or entry-level Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner (provisional registration welcome)
- Solid understanding of Positive Behaviour Support principles and contemporary best practices
- Knowledge of restrictive practices and relevant reporting requirements under the NDIS
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively across a range of stakeholders
- Well-developed analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to person-centred, strength-based support and ongoing professional development
- Current driver's licence and willingness to travel locally as required
