About the role
Catholic Homes has an opportunity for a passionate and motivated Chef to join the team at our Trinity Village facility, located in Duncraig, on a casual basis.
Trinity is a smaller residence set in beautifully landscaped gardens located close to the neighbourhood shopping centre, restaurants and conveniences with easy access from Marmion Avenue and Warwick Road.
The successful applicant will receive ongoing support and guidance from the Facility manager and the Hospitality manager.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
- Previous experience working as a Chef/Cook in Aged Care
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to mentor the Food Services team
- Knowledge of texture modified foods, allergies and able to cater for specific diets (highly desirable)
- Understanding of food safety skills and knowledge of food safety regulations
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Enjoys teamwork / team building and has the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
- Ability to problem solve and adapt to the resident's Care Plan
- Food ordering and service delivery within a budget
- Empathy and understanding of the elderly and those with dementia.
