Role:

The company is currently going through an exciting phase of growth, and an exciting opportunity has been become available for a Production Driller.

Victory Minerals is the owner and operator of the Ballarat Gold Mine. We are now seeking an experienced Production Drill Operator to join our Underground Mining team.

The Opportunity

As an experienced Underground Production Drill Operator, your key responsibilities will be the safe and productive operation of the Production Drill at the Ballarat Gold Mine.

The candidate must have previous Production Drilling mining experience on preferably Sandvik top hammer boom DL321, DL411, DL432i, or similar production drill rigs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

As an Underground Production Drill Operator, your duties will include but not limited to:

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient production drilling of up holes and down holes
  • Ensuring all materials provided for onsite are used in accordance with Company's Safety and Health Management System
  • Working proactively, contributing to the safe work culture onsite by ensuring tasks are completed right the first time, on time
  • Effectively interpret plans and demonstrate good communication
  • Assisting with safe maintenance and operating the Cable Bolter in accordance with the Company's Safety and Health Management System
  • Ensuring quality assurance and quality control compliance for cable bolting activities are applied
  • An understanding of industry best practices for operational production drilling techniques

Minimum Requirements:

  • Min 5 years long drilling experience
  • Sandvik or similar Production Drill rig experience
  • Open stope drilling
  • Ability to read and understand production drill plans
  • Strong focus on safety
  • Familiarisation with JSA's, Stepback, Take 5 assessments
  • Strong knowledge & understanding of ground support standards
  • Current manual Driver's Licence
  • Current First Aid and CPR Certificates would be highly regarded
  • Current working at heights ticket highly regarded
  • Good communication skills, both verbally and written

To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate a high regard for safety, effective communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work with minimal direct supervision and in a team environment.
