We're seeking a talented Head of Sales to join our dynamic team on a part-time, 12-month maternity leave cover. As an independent, creative, innovative publisher, Bloomsbury brings excellence and originality, from books and audiobooks to digital content to a global audience. Join us in shaping the future of publishing within a company that values creativity, diversity, and collaboration.
We're proud to publish many of the world's most loved authors, including Sarah J. Maas, Elizabeth Gilbert, Ann Patchett, Johann Hari, Peter Frankopan, J.K. Rowling, Katherine Rundell, and Jessie Burton.
The successful candidate will have a strong sales track record in publishing and experience across retail channels, including online platforms, bookstore chains, and independent retailers. This role requires a keen understanding of sales operations and processes, excellent analytical skills and the ability to adapt to a dynamic marketplace are essential.
To be successful, you'll bring:
- Proven sales ability with a results-oriented mindset
- Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Solid knowledge of sales operations and processes
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Effective time management and ability to work independently
- Experience leading and managing a team
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to travel for in-person meetings
- Passion for books and publishing
