About the role

Our established Supported Independent Living (SIL) accommodation is looking for an experienced and passionate Team Leader to lead and foster a team of Disability Support Workers in providing exceptional person-centred holistic care and support to our residents. The accommodation has established participants and employees. 

As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for developing program schedules according to our residents' needs and wants, day to day management of the clients, properties and staff, the rostering of staff and exceptional stakeholder engagement. The role will include direct support with residents also.  

This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday to Friday. You will participate, where needed, on a rotating on-call roster and will, when required, be able to work at other CatholicCare sites. This is an onsite role only, and your flexibility with start and finish times will be required. 

Duties:

  • Management: Lead, inspire, coach and mentor a team of Disability Support Workers to implement Person Centered Supports, underpinned by our policies and procedures.
  • Training: Ensure our Disability Support Workers are onboard and trained to provide outstanding care to our participants.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate effectively and confidently, building strong, positive relationships with all stakeholders through clear and supportive interactions.
  • Engaged: Bring your hands on approach in providing care and support to our participants and align their needs with a person-centered plan that has been created for and by the participant.
  • Operations: You will have the full wrap around support of the different departments at head office as you work together to ensure the SIL remains compliant with audits, reporting, finances, and roster management as well as performance management.

Mandatory Requirements: 

  • NSW Drivers Licence and access to an insured vehicle.
  • A current Working With Children's Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate.
  • NDIS workers check.
  • Completion of NDIS worker orientation module.

Requirements:

  • Experience leading a Supported Independent Living (SIL) program, including managing rosters of care and master rosters.
  • An understanding, and ability, to work from the perspective of Unconditional Positive Regard with our clients, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead, develop a team, and foster teamwork.
  • Clear understanding of what holistic Person-Centred supports look like, how to implement these and deliver to the highest possible standard.
  • Tertiary qualifications in appropriate areas are desirable.
