Andrology Scientist Full Time position at Melbourne IVF

Location: East Melbourne

Melbourne IVF, a world leader in assisted reproductive technologies, requires an experienced Andrology scientist for its laboratories located across the Melbourne metropolitan area. The position is a full time permanent position commencing in August

In order to be considered, applicants must have a Bachelor's Degree in Biological Science; experience in a medical laboratory is desirable, preferably with diagnostic Andrology experience such as semen analysis and sperm cryopreservation, however this is not essential as full technical training will be provided to the successful candidate. Scientists in this role will be based at our new Collingwood Laboratory and may be required to work at our Templestowe lower Laboratory.

About the role:

  • Permanent Full-time position at Melbourne IVF
  • We are a close-knit team offering ART services to patients, including diagnostics semen analysis, preparation for ART and sperm cryopreservation
  • The successful candidate will be working alongside our team of fertility specialists, nurses and scientists
  • Able to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • Weekend work and public holidays are required on a rotating basis
  • Able to travel between sites if needed, and adapt to changing work environment/needs
  • Along with performing all laboratory procedures, QAP, QC and ongoing internal/external education is expected of all our scientists
  • Focussed on helping patients achieve positive outcomes.

The successful applicant must have:

  • Excellent communication skills, self-motivation, an exceptional work ethic and a desire to learn.
  • A Bachelor's degree (BSc) or higher in Biology, Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Science, or a related field
  • Experience in an Andrology or Microbiology department is advantageous but not essential
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Australian citizenship, or a valid permanent work visa already issued to allow full time work, and already be living inside Australia. Note: Work sponsored visas will not be offered for this position.
