Animal Attendant

ACT Barks and Recreation is currently open five days a week from 8:00am to 5:30pm, offering a range of shifts across the day. Our focus is on providing a high-quality daycare service for small to medium sized dogs.

Our Animal Attendants are required to:

· manage dogs during group play, basic training and behaviour modification, take dogs for walks in the local area, monitor health and wellbeing of dogs

· maintain a low-stress environment for dogs including using Fear Free practices

· deliver professional customer service including greeting clients and answering basic questions

· keep accurate records and provide owners with key information about their dog's time while at daycare

· have a medium level of fitness and be willing to work outdoors in all kinds of weather

· maintain a clean and safe workspace by following work health and safety policies and infection control procedures

Skills and Experience

Applicants should have:

· a minimum of six months experience working with dogs in an animal care setting, and/or

· relevant national qualifications in animal care, companion animals, or dog behaviour and training (Certificate II level or above).

· First Aid qualifications for humans or animals is desirable.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: $31.20 – $38.35 per hour

Expected hours: 3 – 20 per week
