The Role
The MindMap Youth Portal is an ACT first initiative, which aims to support young people (0-25 years-of-age) and their carers seeking mental health support and services. The Portal provides online triage to link users directly to information, support, and service providers within the ACT. The portal is operational between 11am to 10pm, 7 days a week and between 12pm-8pm on public holidays. The core hours of the Youth Navigator position will span across the week and weekend. Working from home provisions will be in place to allow for working outside of regular business hours. You will be required to work with minimal supervision, using online communication to support and collaborate within a small team.
MindMap is seeking a self-motivated, individual to manage the Youth Portal outside of core business hours. As a Youth Navigator, you will join a team that is responsible for direct service delivery through the online Youth Portal, responding to enquiries via phone, email, text and webchat. You will also be responsible for stakeholder engagement, creating and updating articles for the website and social media posts promoting mental health. Other duties include sourcing and creating appropriate mental health and wellbeing content, reviewing existing content on the Portal, promoting MindMap through networking events and expos and working collaboratively with other team members.

About You
The ideal person we are looking for has
- Tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Counselling or equivalent
- Experience in working with young people and/or families (or study in relevant area).
- Demonstrated verbal, written communication skills and time management skills
- Ability to respond appropriately to clients presenting with complex issues
- Competent in the use of Information Technology.
- Must be located in Canberra ACT or surrounding region
- Current Working with Vulnerable People card (ACT)
- NSW Working with Children Check clearance
Successful applicants must also complete a National Criminal History Check
