About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to join Prothom' as a Junior Estimator. In this full-time role based in Moonee Ponds, VIC, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the success of our maintenance works by providing accurate and detailed cost estimates. As a Junior Estimator, you will be responsible for quantifying and costing construction materials, labour, and other project expenses, allowing Prothom' to deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
What you'll be doing
- Preparing detailed cost estimates for maintenance jobs, including materials, labour, and equipment requirements
- Researching and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotes to secure the best value for the company
- Collaborating with project managers, site supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure estimates align with project requirements
- Keeping up-to-date with industry trends, pricing changes, and new construction methods to optimise cost efficiencies
- Providing support and guidance to junior estimators to help develop their skills
What we're looking for
- Minimum 1 years' experience as an Estimator in the construction industry
- Understanding of construction materials, methods, and cost drivers
- Proficiency in using estimation software and spreadsheet applications
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify cost-saving opportunities
