Fauna spotter catcher - Brisbane

Keystone Fauna Management is looking to bring on a fauna spotter/catcher to work within the Brisbane, Ipswich and Gold Coast areas.

About us

Keystone Fauna Management is a wildlife consultancy operating out of Brisbane. We specialise in comprehensive fauna spotter catcher services, habitat assessments and listed species management.

The role offers

Work on a wide range of projects, from major infrastructure developments to backyard tree surveys

Flexible working arrangements

Training and development

Be an active participant in the protection of Australia's weird and wonderful native fauna

Main duties

Undertake pre-clearance surveys for fauna habitat

Undertake targeted presence/absence searches for fauna

Supervision of land-clearing

Fauna identification, capture and relocation

Terrestrial and aquatic fauna management

Nest box plans, installation and monitoring

Data processing and reporting

Strictly adhere to safe work practices

Desirable qualities

Tertiary qualifications

Experience working as a fauna spotter or equivalent within Queensland

Good fauna identification and handling skills

Ability and willingness to work outside for long periods

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Computer literacy

Have initiative, a good attitude and the ability to work safely to a high standard with minimal supervision

Hold a construction white card

Venomous snake handling certificate and/or experience

Hold a current first aid certificate

Hold working at heights certification

Lyssavirus and Q-fever vaccinated

Live in Southeast Queensland
